I started fooling around with mp3 on Morpheus recently and tried copying some songs onto my md recorder with the pc-link.

The songs copied OK but there are hiccups in the stream that show up as pauses similar to a scratched cd. Is there a better place to download music or better quality bitrates. Or is there a way to record cleaner. I have dsl so I was suprised when this happened. The songs saved on my computer also have this same hiccup effect.

I am new to mp3's and any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, since the problem manifests itself on your PC, you can rule out any problems with your MD player or pc-link at this point. What media player are you using?

My advice would be to first try to play the affected MP3's on a different media player, try winamp, music match, windows media player, and anything else handy. If you still have problems, try downloading from a different source. Try Kazaa, Imesh, or Limewire, or just go to Amazon.com and download some of their free MP3 songs. If you still have problems, start looking at your sound card. Does it "hiccup" with wav files and wma files and cd playback too?

Good luck

There's a lot of high bitrate mp3's on Bearshare.
