Does anyone have any recommendations for great movie soundtracks to check out?

I have a couple of favorites, including those for Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars (the first two movies). But I haven't found any others that stack up, although I own several. It seems that many work very well with the movies that they were made for, but don't work nearly as well without the movie.

Any thoughts or recommendations?...

Check out 'Conan the Barbarian'. In my opinion, it's better than any of the three you listed (though I like them all).
