New Head-Fier
Greetings, new member here.
I've been looking into purchasing my first planar magnetic headphone, in this case the Arya. On top of it already being a difficult can to drive, I've read about users needing more power to really get the most out of them. Problem is, Prior to this I've really just stuck to monitors and consumer level headphones so I'll admit Im not good at understanding proper amp requirements. Having done the calculations with Aryas' specs. 10^((110db - 90)/10). [Power needed = 99.9 mW] [Current needed = 53.4 mA] [Voltage needed = 1.87 Vrms] The MOTU has a built in amp capable of outputting 190mW @ 55 Ohms with an output impedance of 0.05 Ohms. Is it powerful enough to drive such headphones? What info should I be looking at?
