Does the Monoloth 124460 portable actually have Dual AK4493's like the manual says? I can't find it mentioned anywhere on the product page but sure enough, it says it has dual dacs in the manual..

It's a typo in the manual, it has a single AK4493.

Thanks, understood. If it's of any help, as output devices DACs rely on what they're getting from transports. If a DAC doesn't work as intended, the odds are a device prior to it has some issues, so it's worth checking it first. In the meantime, enjoy!

I am trying OPTical as an input but each time it says NO SIGNAL. Do you experience same issue ?

Right now I am sending optical to my DAC and output as Line out to 3.5 input of Monolith; difference between bitperfect via USB and analog input is massive and better on 3.5; it got so much space and separation that I couldn't believe it might

sometimes its as simple as not having optical connected in before you turn the unit on ....this unit can be fussy at times for some of the littlest reasons.
