Ok, the source is my PS3 for games/Bluray..

Optical out going into -> Astro Mixamp Pro - 3.5 analogue going into -> Sennheiser rs 220 basestation (wireless cans)

The PS3 has no volume control.

The Astro Mixamp does have a volume control.

The Sennheiser rs 220, has TWO volume controls, 1) Dial on the back of basestation 2) Digital up/down bottom on front of basestation

(dial is only operative with an analogue input as far as I know)

Question is, how should the dials be set, which vol do I max out, and which should be used to casually increase/decrease volume?

Cheers,
Rav.

Max out everything but the one on the headset. Control volume with that one.

Thanks!
It's working really well for Need For Speed, but when playing Black Ops, the explosions seem really distorted..

Is this normal? It's fine if I switch the "dolby headphone" off.. but that's obviously defeating the object..

Try 90% on the mixamp first. If it still distorts then do 90% on the rest of the chain. When I have my mixamp hooked to my amp, I have it set at where the white zone ends and where the red zone starts which is around 90-95%.

I tried that, I had both on 50%, but still no luck..

What I've found does help is turning the volume down from the options in the game..
Bass still not as clear as I'd have hoped..

Yet to try it with a movie, will try tonight..
