I'm interested in buying a secondhand Sharp MD MT-831 and I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what would be a reasonable price to pay ($US)?

[Actually does anyone have one they're interested in selling?]

At this point only a minidisc cultist would still be hanging onto one - and for them its a legendary model, so I think you'd still be looking at $100 at least.

You might get lucky and come across someone who's cleaning out their brother/son etc's closet and doesn't realize what it is they are selling and that some people revere that thing. But not likely really...

For what its worth, I think the DR7 gives the exact same sound - and its actually got all the modern stuff. So dont spend your money chasing the MT-831 unless you're a dedicated collector or something.

I think it is stupid to pay over USD100 for a MT831 since it is nothing intresting, besides a nice line out. And as said previously unless you are a collector it is just plain silly to buy old MDs for near new price. Also if you are intending on using a MT831 as a source, I personally dont recommend it. You are probably better off buying a proper source

Up to you to decide... Just my AUD0.02
