Can I use my MG Head as a preamp? What is the output of the headphone jack? If i get a mini to RCA can I plug the output of the mg head (headphone jack) into the input of an amp?

Yes! Don't use the OTL output, it has too much gain. The transformer output works fine for preamping, at least with my amp (NAD C350). The sound is actually very good. It's light on the fine details, but has a nice tubey tone. The highs are extended and the bass is solid (but I'm not running it with a subwoofer, so I can't be sure there's no bass rolloff in the lower frequencies).

The highs are exteneded!?? I've never heard that out of an MG Head.
