Has anyone had a chance to listen to the Meridian 507 CD player? If so, do you think it would be a real step-up from something like the Musical Fidelity A3.2 of maybe one of the high end Arcam players?

There are a few threads on Audiogon last I checked (which was a few months ago) but not much information. Most people over there seemed to tell me I might as well just go for a used 508 or 508.24 (I went with a used 508) since those can be bought for a lot less than the 507. The 507 is based on the 506 -- although with new upsampling chips -- so it doesn't seem to be a great buy for its rather high price... and nobody seems to be selling it used. Another good option would be the 588 which I think can be had used/demo for less than the 507.

Anyway, definitely go over to www.audiogon.com to read the few reviews there. T-bone had a good one as I recall.
