I'm concerned about how loud my headphones get, but I don't have a decibel meter to measure my set up with, mainly because I'm too cheap to get one.
60dB is normal conversation level, and safe according to what I've been reading. The thing is that when I have my iPod volume at 0% it is still highly audible for me, and sometimes seems too loud. I'm using a pair of Grado SR80s with 6th gen 120GB iPod Classic. I'm wondering if anyone else has this basic setup, and can measure the output in dB for me, and compare it to the percentage of the volume control. As in: 60 dB = X% of volume bar.
