I have the Edirol MA-10D Digital Powered Micro-Monitors.
Pros:
Better than computer speakers. Relatively cheap. Lots of power, for a desk, anyway. Speakers cut out when a headphone is plugged in.
The digital input is a plus: I had them first connected to a G4 via the headphone out, and something in the set up caused some pretty horrible hum. When my workstation was upgraded to a G5 the toslink in on the Edirols eliminated the hum/feedback/ground loop.
Cons:
I don't feel they're very well made. The control knobs are plasticky. The speakers themselves are somewhat ugly to look at.
I'd say I'm medium-happy with them. Ideally at some point I'll bring them home and connect them to an Airport Express, and find something else for my workstation (something smaller, while also switching to a dedicated headphone amp).

I have the MA-20D and am reasonably happy.
I do have some hiss and hum that is noticible with high sensitivy headphones like the SR60's but I don't notice it with the HD580's. Someday, I have to track down the ground loop responsible for that hum. I'm using the optical out from a Chaintech AV710, so the noise must be coming from the Edirols, correct?
Anyway, they are great for the money, much less than most powered monitors.
One mention on the sound from the headphone out. It is a bit bass heavy and treble shy, much more than the CMOY amplified out of the analog out from the AV710. I can adjust this easily with the MA20D's front mounted bass and treble controls.
PS: I really like their sound from the speakers but this is the only higher quality speakers I've ever had so I'm not able to tell if they are audiophile level. I will say that they sound very much like what I hear from my headphones(eg. HD580) but with less detail.
