Hi,
In the movie xXx (I am not talking about ****, I am referring to the movie, a.k.a. triple X starring Vin Diesel) there's a section early on where Vin Diesel goes to the exclusive criminal club located in Prague along with his newfound undercover cop friend. To jog your memories, those of you that saw it, this is the same place where Vin Diesel runs up to the lounge and tells the Anarchy 99 members that they have a cop in their bar.
RIGHT BEFORE the shot goes to the actors, it focuses in with a blue light on someone playing some sort of instrument I can't identify. It likes flat on the table, seems to be electric, but has lots more strings and seems to sound very similar to a guitar. In many ways, it reminds me of the Western version of a Chinese lyre.
An image of the Chinese lyre can be found here

What I'd like to know is what that instrument in xXx was, and where I can find similar laid-back/relaxing heavy-hitting-bass-beat-less music.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for reading!
