Hey guys,

as I really didn’t find much like this topic I open this up now.
I am currently looking for a High End IEM.
My budget is up to 1000€, used is totally okay for me which puts quite some big players in my budget.

I am not that experienced with IEMs but I heard many Full Size Headphones and own quite some.
So I am looking at the following IEMs as these would fit well in my budget and are widely known as very good. My question is which Full Size Headphone would you compare them to soundwise? My go to is at the Moment a Focal Elear with Clear pads (Elex isn’t available in Europe :) )

Campfire Andromeda/Atlas/Solaris

Noble Massdrop Kaiser 10

Noble Katana

Long topic for this simple question but I am really looking forward to the answers :)

best regards from Germany

I have no experience with those IEMs, but since you are in Germany have you looked into InEar? They are a German maker of high quality IEMs. I own the StageDiver5 and love it. It fits in your budget. For that price you could also find a used ProPhile8, but that might not give you the full size sound you're after.

Sony's latest hybrid the IER-Z1R is known to have a full size sound but might be out of your price range.

I think most head-fiers are either into IEMs or full size headphones, so it would be a great help if you can describe the sound of the Elear and what you love about it.
It will also help to know what music you are listening to.
Thirdly, with IEMs you have the main choice between dynamic drivers and balanced armature, with some basic strengths on each side.

In your shortlist you have IEMs that are pretty much the polar opposite, like the Campfire Atlas, which is a bass monster, and the Andromeda, which is a pretty flat IEM with a little sparkle up top.

Then there is the use case, in which situations do you want to use them? And what will you be using as source?

If you could add information about these points I am sure you’ll get more feedback!
And take a look at www.crinacle.com I find his ranking list and graph comparison tool very useful, but of course they are only one guy’s opinions...
Cheers!

Yes, if you give us more information, as per surfgeorge, that would really help. There are a bunch of really good IEMs, but your preferences are key. There is no such single “best” IEM for everybody. You should also consider the so-called “Chi-Fi” brands, as there are many TOTL contenders now.

From the above options, Solaris for sure.
