My Denon AH-D310 has had it's best time, so it's time to find a successor.
The Denon is (or was) a perfect example of what I was looking for.

  1. Budget: €50 - €75
  2. Over-ear
  3. Warm and deep sound (listening to George Ezra, Ben Howard, Jack Johnson, Bon Iver ... but also Arcade Fire, Frank Sinatra, Foo Fighters, Alt-J, ....)
  4. Used for listening to Spotify on MacBook Pro

Should I buy the same device, or are there better options nowadays?

Thanks!

Denon completely changed their headphone line. They gave the finger to audiophiles and went after the beats crowd. I have seen some remaining D310 being sold at close-out specialists, but that's in the US - I don't know the situation in the EU.

Really? That's regrettable. Really enjoyed the AH-D310.
So, any other brands that have a decent model or beter alternative for this kind of usage?

Can't seem to find dealers in Europe that still sell the Denon.

Thanks!

EDIT: is the AH-D1001 a valuable alternative? Or is it overkill to buy this only to listen to Spotify?
