Thanks. I heard about it. Have you heard it? The only thing keeping me from it is I heard it was quite forward and on the verge of being peaky in the mids.

I haven’t heard it. I’m partial to the Sony DAPs myself, but they’re not really that warm sounding. Hiby also has the R5 Gen 2 which has an class A amp + Android and is roughly the same price as the RS2.

Calyx m,early version is very warm organic sounding newer version is still on the warm side I have both highly recommended used

The Cayin N3 Pro would be worth a look but it doesn’t stream if that’s an issue?

I would use the Sony ZX507 here. or you get an iFi DAC. I got along very well with them too. but the Sony would be my first choice.

At this price, you have RS2, DX170, and M11s. There maybe other older DAPs. However, only RS2 is warm after burn in.

The original Hiby R5 with Cirrus Logic dac chips is a good fit for a warmer presentation. Not going to be the most analog sounding, but most daps under 500 dollars won't be.

RS2 is good enough for that purpose.
