Well my Technics has bit the dust, the motor won't run at a constant speed anymore. Can someone recommend an older table on Ebay, Audiogon, etc.? I'm using my Marantz 1060B as a phono stage, out to the MPX3. No cheap is too cheap here, definitely under the $100 mark would be nice. And something in good condition, maybe a stylus change or minor tweaks. Just looking to revive my vinyls.

Edit: the speed problem is actually in the pitch control, there's a little dead zone in the movement that seems to be shorted out or something, tiny movements make it jump speeds rapidly. Any hope of a simple fix for that?

Could the pot on your pitch control be dirty? Try shooting some contact cleaner into the dial and see if it fixes your problem.

See ya

Well considering the dead zone and erratic movement I'm thinking it's more than dirt. I turned it over last night and found some screws, not sure if taking them off would get me to where I could look at the pot. Probably not much hope of finding a replacement though.

Matt ... I may have a lead for you. A coworker has a Denon or Thorens (don't remember which) that he mentioned having me sell on Audiogon for him. So far, he hasn't brought it in, but I remember looking it up when he firrst mentioned it, and it seemed a good unit. He may jump at a chance for a quick sale.

Shoot me a pm if you want more info. Bob's out today, but I can get more info for you tomorrow.
