Picked this up at lunch time when I felt I needed something new to listen to.
Anyway, I'm mightily, mightily impressed by it. It has a very bluesy, gospel, soul, Jazz feel... The title track is not only an amazing song, but has some awesome horn arrangements that really make it a stand-out track on the album.
I think one of the biggest criticisms of Jazz is that it often comes across as too intellectual, a music only enjoyed by people who can sit and analyse it for hours on end. If that's the case, this is the kind of music that goes against all that. I'm trying to avoid saying it this way but I don't think I can, it just comes across as having greater feeling to it.
Anyway, I'm loving it at the moment. If you head to Amazon you can hear some samples, as I said, Salt is so far the best track on the album for me (amazing lyrics with an awesome arrangement make it an almightily powerful song).
