short version, i hated them. my compact system is the new version sf extrema. i guess it is not exactly fair to compare those. the bw was just so in my face i could not stand it. i really like grado's but this was just too much. they are bright and harsh as heck. of course opinions may vary. i honestly think these are like $1,500 speakers not $6,000 and the Maserati fairs even worse for ten grand. of course if you look through here and see what all my gear is perhaps i am just not being fair to them. i am not sure though because even sf in the same price range is much better to me. i could not stand these. got up and left. i fully understand one man's rubbish is another man's gold however. i personally hared these. hardly even accurate not great placement don't sound bigger than they are....i could go on. i just wanted to give my opinion not worth what they cost. lower the price a 3rd and okay. end of rant. please don't flame. if you like them i am happy for you.
