i am seeking my first pair of CIEMs and was gonna go with CE6P... and then i noticed they no longer offered a T2 connector.
after searching multiple other manufacturers it seems like they all dropped it and are going for the 2 pin option.

I contacted Cosmic Ears, their response:

"We no longer offer the T2 connector due to a number of reliability issues that have been reported with it. Unfortunately we don’t know when a new batch may be available, so as of now, we are unable to say when or if we will be able to offer this connector again."

i didnt see anything else in forums about this... any idea on what was wrong with t2... thought on this being picked up again?

I will likely go with the 2 pin at this point but was kinda curious on the subject...

thanks

Thank you for your interest in our T2 connector system :-)

Since the very first T2 connector system launch, we have continuously worked on improving its performance – from minor to major changes. The T2 system is the first connector system made specifically for audio. We work closely with several earphone manufacturers on the T2 solution to make this the new connector standard in the industry, which is our ultimate goal. CIEMs/IEMs with T2 are currently supplied by a few selected manufactures. We are also still in close dialogue with Cosmic Ears who provides valuable feedback and we hope to have the proper solution for them too soon.

Below is a summary of the latest improvements we have introduced:

estron T2 Female: We have increased retention force and improved corrosion resistance against sweat. It has been a challenge to find material which is corrosion resistant and meet our test requirements. Now, we finally have the solution, which shows a significant difference in our test results.

estron T2 Male: We change from 3.0mm in diameter to 3.4mm in diameter, which will be our new standard. With this new standard, we meet market requirements for other cable solutions, such as Linum Super BaX, microphone cables, and memory wire adapter – all solutions which are not possible with the existing T2 Male. The current T2 Male with 3.0mm in diameter will continue for those who already use this solution, and who do not wish to change to 3.4mm.

Furthermore, we are working with several high end manufacturers on a redesign of the T2 female to further optimize the solution based on our learnings.

Thus, with a steep learning curve, we have solved earlier issues and continue to improve whenever possible. We work on microphone cables, memory wire adapter and other solutions with T2 which have been requested from manufacturers and Linum users worldwide.

We hope you get a chance to get the T2 connector system on your next CIEMs/IEMs :-)

To those who have never seen what a T2 connector looks like, here you go:

appreciate the feedback, i have been following the news on super bax for some time now, good to see the update.
i am also happy to hear that you're working on an inline microphone solution, as far as i know not many C/IEM makers offer a high quality iOS inline remote/mic solution. i would be first in line with buying such a cable, especially with a T2 connector would make an amazing pair.
