Line out on MD

I don't think any of the minidisc players out right now have a line out at all. However, Sony and Sharp do have the option on some of their MD players to "switch on" a line out from the headphone out. The Sharp "line out" is reportedly better quality than the Sony.

Also, all MD recorders with NetMD are able to record your MP3s directly into the recorder.

Any MD machine can record MP3s via analog, but it's hard to find a solid player with a good line out anymore. I rely on the rightfully-legendary Sony MZ-R50, which is rugged, reliable, plays ATRAC-R, and has an excellent line out. Coupled with my Super Mini amp, it's a *great* portable setup!

I have to agree with Buster on that. I went from an MZ-R900 (variable line out), to an MZ-R50 (dedicated line out); big BIG difference. I get a much fuller, sound with a much wider soundstage with the R50.
