Let your imagination run wild... what would YOU do if you were building a new house?

Not much, just a big contragts and that's all. You could also add some nice specakers for the bedroom, like those from speakercraft, or flat pannels on both sides of the TV (you know, there are going to be times when you need a TV in your room).

Also, speakercraft makes some all weather speakers that could be very well used in the Jacuzzi and perhaps the patio. As for a headamp in there, just like Rick says, it's an easy way to turn yourself into chicken soup

. You could get instead a good FM modulator, like those from Canakit (www.canakit.com, I think) to send audio from your system and then listen to it using one of those Speedo FM radios with earplugs. Not in the same league as your Ety's, but you'll be able to let your head sink into the water without loosing a beat.

What else? Of course

!!! You WILL NEED a good alarm system and perhaps a guard dog. If you throw all that money into your house, then you'll better protect it. After all, we live in the capital of the 3rd World and you can never be too safe.

Ah! And think about babyproofing the house and the network.

.

Y MUCHAS FELICIDADES POR TU NUEVO PALACIO.

Ah yes,X-10-a subject dear to my heart.I do not own the house I live in but rent it so carving up the walls to rewire to suit my lifestyle is not an option.
Yes you can control X-10 modules from the computer. You can also do security and home entertainment. You can add tiny little security or "keep an eye on the baby" cams.Everything integrates and can be automated by zone.Set the coffee pot to go on and start brewing at 5:30,alarm at 5:45 with the lights on at the same time, turn on the heat/AC an hour before you come home from work.
Only your imagination will put limits on these products. And if you sign up for the newsletter you will not only get incredible discounts but actual user stories and ideas.
I recommend this company without reservations.

And the previously mentioned outdoor audio feed ? The AV anywhere is a wireless system that sends an RF signal that is controllable with a handheld remote.Pretty cool. Will post links to some of the products I actually have later

I'm going to add my vote for a secret passage to a small room for headphone listening. Modern houses don't have enough (or any) secret passages. Also, it'd be a good place to store the $4000 amps...

If you don't have dogs, or don't want guard dogs...than hook up outdoor speakers and motion sensors such that it will be scripted to play guard dog noises. Likewise, you could have lights on the inside that turn on and have some outdoor speakers play noises as if people are inside and such.

I still like the no window, no door room with a hole in the ceiling or ground. It would be like a big bass port that you can leave and enter by. I can see the problem with people accidentily falling through the bass port tube and bottoming out.

Rick, ignore what I'm about to say

fjhuerta, PLEASE don't buy anything from X-10. They are singlehandedly responsible for the barrage of LAME pop-up ads we drown in every day on the web. I wouldn't use an X-10 product if they paid me and gave me all the equipment for free.

Rick, you can read now

Windows has built in ad filtering! And so does any other OS supporting .hosts files! Cool! I never knew that! I'm being an idiot with all the exclamation points aren't I!

Hey Macster, gotta agree with you there man.The most anoying pop ups , and damn near every other web page !
Wasn't always like that and I wish they would cool out but in reality this is not the huge compnay they are thought to be.Other than radio shack carrying "branded " versions of the stuff,X-10 is a mostly web based company.
The shame is,the products really could stand on the merits, really that good for the use meant.
