I have heard a grand total of one song by her "new toy" which I believe was written by Thomas Dolby who was also in her band. It is a great tune

In any event I want to hear more but I cant find anything anywhere.

Anybody here got amy recommendations?

"New Toy" Yesss. I think there was one other, maybe, however. I was just listening to an mp3 of Frank Zappa on the Dick Cavett show. Frank was talking about not liking punk (fabricated) but liking the New Wave scene. Dick asked Frank what his favorite New Wave groups were, the first person he mentioned was Lene Lovich. Pretty cool. Still, "New Toy". Hm, definitely the best one.

Let's see from there I would extrapilate to:

Something by "X". A great California band.

One other what? One other song? The Lene Lovich albums that I am aware of are Stateless, Flex, No Man's Land, and March, although I am only really familiar with the first two.For some reason I never really liked New Toy and much prefer Lucky Number, which was her big hit from her first album. I saw her play once at a PETA benefit but for some reason I don't really remember much of it.

Lene Lovich was a Stiff records label artist who did weird vocal trills, yelps and hiccups, and got signed by Columbia in the U.S. I've got the 'Stateless' album on vinyl, as well as a "New Toy" 45 (that's a 45rpm (revolutions per minute) vinyl single). "Lucky Number" was indeed the radio hit from 'Stateless,' and it is a pretty good album overall. I very much like the song "Too Tender to Touch."

You will not find 1982 album "no mans land" anywhere, it is extremely rare since it was pulled off shelves a couple weeks after release for unknown reasons........it is my favorite album by LL, more straight ahead rock style less kooky new wave. You can obtain music from this album on a couple collections:

Flex Plus
Remastered "flex" album plus "new toy" EP and several tracks from NML

Stiff Years Vol II
Most of Flex + New Toy EP + almost all of NML album, excellent collection but only available on used market currently.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, you guys are great.
It looks like she has dropped off the map though. I could not find anything locally, though I am going to try a few used stores today, but now I know what to look for.
