Hey, I've been browsing around for good IEMS and want to see if the buds in the following link are genuine products.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Genuine-Yamaha-EPH100-EPH-100-Stereo-Professional-Earphone-Headphone-Silver/161989614910?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D35694%26meid%3D27eb9793c2754e009be788e8e895436c%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D272135233517

This one seems somewhat legitimate as the buyer as lots of reputation and has been around since 2009, yet two of its neutral reviews out of two in the past 6 months have been on the EPH 100's, one saying that they're fake. They also sell lots of other earphones and are located in China. The EPH 100's they're selling don't come with the box (which usually is indicative of legitimacy due to the lack of accent on the e of "qualité").

Thanks in advance.

From my experience, I would personally avoid any reputable brand names coming from China without retail packaging.

There have been reports of fake EPH-100 floating around in the earphones dedicated thread here. Brands like Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Beats etc. Anything popular the frauds will copy because it sells quickly.  While they often get the housings and cables looking nearly identical they cannot replicate the sound from the dynamic drivers.

So you have three alarm bells:

  1. China based seller.
  2. No retail packaging.
  3. Some feedback pointing to fakes.

+1--it sounds concerning.
