I have and enjoy the LCD4 headphones but have purchased a pair of Phi TC headphones for fun. Has anyone compared these headphones? I will be getting a Niimbus 5 Pro amp for my headphones which is replacing my Moon 430 HA and Auralic Taurus Mk2 amps. Any opinions by experience would be appreciated.

Completely different sounds.

LCD-4=Intimate, smaller soundstage. Much warmer/darker. Less hard hitting. Less detailed. Feels heavier on the head. Great headphones, with all that being said.

1266TC= Wider soundstage, less thick sounding. More detailed. May be less comfortable for some, depending on head shape and fit.

LCD-4 works well with the Taurus, Abyss does not.

Moon430 is a good pairing with Abyss.

One would assume it will sound good, but I've never heard a nimbus so I can't personally say.

I couldn't enjoy the lcd4 (for the short time I had it).
Felt heavier on my head than any of my other headphones. Clamp was strong. Pads made my face and ears feel really warm and hot and got a bjt sweaty fast.
Darker and warmer sounding than the abyss. Decent bass but seems missing some slam/punch. Missing air up top and overall sounded like a closed headphone..
