Hi, anyone tried to add cups to the LCD3 ?
I'm thinking about printing some cups that would have the same form factor as the XC bubinga's and adding a bit of padding on the inside wall.
with some tuning could have the best of both worlds. then easily convert it back to open when I feel like it.

mods: if this belongs in DIY please move.

It does belong in DIY, but PLEASE follow up on this. I tried this on the LCD-2F and it didn't sound better IMO. It definitely isolated well, but it wasn't something I wanted to keep on them. I think the headphones need to be non-fazor for this to work well, otherwise there just isn't enough volume inside the cups to get the bass response to be reasonable. I think the LCD-XC does NOT use a fazor, which is why it sounds good closed.

I am not sure how easily removable the fazors are. Are yours the fazor version?

Again, please follow up on this.

Thanks for the reply, yes I have the fazor version, maybe a few try are necessary before achieving a decent sound out of them. I know it'll never sound as good as the stock lcd3f, I don't mind it as I largely prefer the sound isolation in some situations.
