So Im currently using a laptop with an HDMI out to my Onkyo 676 Receiver then out to my TV(I do some gaming etc..)

I'm playing FLAC files with my BT770PRO's plugged straight into the receiver.

Is this currently my best option for highest quality audio?

I was thinking about a USB to USB cable to cut out sending video through the reciever as I'm also having a screen flicker periodically and seemingly randomly and I'd like to fix that while retaining audio quality.

Does the Onkyo 676 receiver have a setting that allows graphics to pass thru the 676, in other works the Onkyo 676 would allow graphics to pass thru, with out the 676 changing the graphics.

I clicked through the settings and didnt see anything. It's quite annoying. It goes hours without doing it and then does 2 or 3 times in a few minute period. The audio also cuts out. I've tried messing with refresh rates and it does it on both 1080p and 4k resolutions from the laptop.

Thinking of trying some different hdmi cables.
