Lampizator Amber 1 worth it in 2024?

Found a great deal on one of these locally.

Retailed at 2500, down to nearly half that.

Is the Amber 1 still good relative to the market today against similar prices?

For a few hundreds more I'll take the Teac UD-701N.

But seeing your sig. will invest on other things (power conditioner?, Better source/streamer?).

My issue is potentially getting rid of MScaler/TT2 combo to buy separate amp and DAC instead. I've got a 1266 coming, and I have a mix of 4 pin XLR and 6.3mm terminations across a Diana TC, 1266 stock and 1266 Superconductor that come with the headphones themselves. TT2 chatter is that SE isn't quite enough to get best out of 1266, so I'm researching different paths I could go.

Otherwise what you suggest I'd totally agree with.

How about a nice amp: Pathos Inpol Ear. Steve has a review of it. An was using the said amp on his review of the 1266.. Abyss were using it for their 1266 in shows. And will work great on your other HP sets. Need NOS tubes to shine better.

Are you using the built in DAC, or know much about its quality?

Nope. Using an Audiobyte stack (DAC, Streamer, PSU). Quality and SQ is top notch (Pathos). Too bad, not too much love in this forum. Will take any that you will throw it. And will sound great. It has a thread in here.

The DAC in Pathos is an option.
