Presumingly if I have the space and able to buy either speaker at the same price, any opinions on which would be a better buy? Can't decide between a floorstander or bookshelf speaker...
I have a Velodyne 8" subwoofer and a Yamaha AV-R.

The KG 3.2 don't really look like floorstanders to me. Sure you can put them on the floor, but generally speaking you want the tweeters at about ear height when in your listening position.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would honestly look into monitors from PSB, Paradigm, or Axiom Audio - the Alpha B1, Atom, or M2, respectively. All well-engineered to deliver as close to a neutral frequency response as possible. The only caveat is that for some of these speakers, the impedance can dip as low as 4 ohms, so your amp needs to be stable at that level.
