I was wondering how the old SAC K 1000 amp here compares with more modern amps or tube amps. Reason I'm asking is because amps like the F1 and Red Wine are not really in my (wifes) price range. My options are more in the region of the ASL AKG amp, Dared MP5 or the amp designed for it, the SAC and the like.
Has anyone compared any of these? I know there are K 1000 owners with these amps here and would like opinions on the sonic merits of each before I go off ordering. I read the K1000 amps thread but it seems everyone likes their own amps but didn't necessarily say why and what makes them better than others for the K1000.
