As said, if you like this song, don't read this, you'll hear it as well and be annoyed , apologies in advance.
Walking to work this morning and listening to this great Junkie XL song called 'Made for each other' I had a bit of a fright thinking my HD25's were broken. I got to work and switched to my iPhone earphones and then to my S215's hearing the same thing: A hiss when the Fairlight solo kicks in.
When checking other sources, I found the same thing:
You can hear it on the youtube video (which is awesome), at 1:33:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oxk2y6u8aJo
And the soundcloud at 4:00:
http://www.junkiexl.com/?attachment_id=683
This to me sound like clipping, right?
Then, to my horror: I found this article:
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun14/articles/inside-track-0614.htm
With the phrase: "You can see some of the meters in Pro Tools clipping, because I like that sound."
I was not expecting this from an established artist with loads of great soundtracks to his name. Or am I wrong on this one?
