Is there such a thing as a better USB port? In the market for a laptop as source :)

I want a laptop to connect to my Opera. I believe USB is the best option.

Now as far as the laptop is concerned... anything I should be aware?

Thanks

It'll only require USB 1.1, so about any USB port you can find on a notebook will be ok. Not such a good idea: indirect connection via USB hubs in general, and especially so, if there are other USB devices connected to the hub as well - that would increase your chances of getting lags and drop-outs.

Would using sp/dif out be a better idea?

Also, where's a good place to buy headphones and laptops in Munich?

Check out the I2S off ramp. May be more than you want to get into but worth the read.

6moons used a $1000 toshiba with their test. Their conclusion was that a laptop with a properly built usb dac will take the race with a cdp hands down.
