Is there a simple or minimal post on the basics needed for diy headphones?

So I know the basics of where we can make stuff like:

Headband
Cup
Headphone cable
Earpads
Drivers (Although I wish there were more available that the Peerless drivers we see everywhere!)

I am just at the point of the electrical parts.
I'm not going to run a balanced cable since I don't have a balanced amp but I would like to know how to wire
up each speaker for each side.

Whats a good 3.5mm audio connector for the head cup? I've seen so many and I don't want to get a crappy one.
Is it possible to add in stuff like crossovers or anything else that's small that might effect the sound?

I really am not looking for a flat sounding headphone. Just something to test and have plain old fun with.

I have my regular dynamic driver, electrostatic, IEMS and Planar's. But now I just want to do my own thing and just test
to see what I can make. Will it sound bad? Who knows, but its the adventure and seeing what happens that's the fun part.

I know I am being 100% lazy here, but are there any links to where people can throw out what parts I will need?
I will be running dynamic drivers and it will be amped. I am not looking to make these portable. They will be just my "lay down on bed and relax"
headphones. Or if they are super fun maybe become gaming headphones.

I'll also be posting pics of everything and reviews on how they sound. I'm very sensitive to audio, even with Tinnitus I have near perfect hearing .
