Hi...I just got the Audio Technica CK7 yesterday but I haven't tried it yet & I do not have a CK9 to compare to anyway i just came across this description of the CK9 on a website & it mentions Quote:

The ATH-CK9 improves over the CK7 with better bass handling and overall detail. This is a comfortable canalphone ideal for people who haven't used canalphones before. These do not offer high levels of isolation.

Am I going to regret purchasing the CK7?

My advice: Open them, use them, see what you think, enjoy them...after all, you've debated for months now about getting them! If you don't like em, a quick resale through the FS forum is more than probable.

BTW, I have seen two conflicting opinions on 9 v 7 - at some point, it really does come down to letting your own ears decide. Jump in.

No, you're not going to regret it. It's been said that the armature-based CK9 sounds like a watered-down Shure E4. The dynamic flavor of the CK7 is very suitable for good bass and lucid highs; for its price point you shall not be disappointed.

at this point i'm leaning towards the ck-9 as being superior, but i swapped away the ck7s a couple of months ago and never compared the two of them directly. why don't you get both and do the comparison to see for yourself. then let us know what you find.

So, starsky5000, any thoughts?
Intrigued to know what you finally think of your purchase...

Of course, you may be out-of-it, listening entranced in some sonic wonderland, or (surely not) bitterly regretting ever parting with your money?

Vapid yet inquiring minds want to know!
