Is my AMP dying?

I have a schiit jotunheim that is driving my denon d5200. I get intermittent low sound. Sound will be low, I'll crank up volume, and then 5 seconds later it will be too loud, so i'll put it low again and then a minute or two later it will too low again. Any idea what the other culprits could be?

Short of lucking out replacing the power cable and cleaning the contacts, it'll take sending it to Schiit for service. Is there any spot on the volume wheel where it doesn't happen?

Not sure what would cause that variation in volume. Are your interconnects from your DAC fully secured to the the RCA/XLR connections? If everything else checks out to be okay, then as @dunring mentioned you should contact Schiit Audio.
