IS it wrong that I really like the original ipod shuffle earbuds?

I love their treble, even though the mids and especially bass is lacking, but they are fun to listen to especially any type of music that emphasizes highs (classical etc.). I have the HD595, mylar X3, but for treble I still prefer the shuffle earbuds.

Is something wrong with my ears?

I asked a colleague about why she liked the iPod earbuds; she responded that she wasn't an "audio snob." Maybe part of that was aimed at me.

Hang around here for awhile and you'll get the skinny on why the iPod earbuds are so deficient. For me, they make the iPod sound tinny. I know the way certain music is supposed to sound, and these buds don't quite cut it.

Who cares what other thinks, u make it clear enuff ur primary concern at the treble and if that bud makes it sound like u like 'em, stick with that.

I agree with some of the others. If you like them, they are perfect. I've read enough on this board to know for every 1500 post member, there will be another with completely opposing opinions about everything. Music is just too subjective which is why I stopped asking questions about A vs B.

apple buds...hmmm...crap, lets face it anything free usually is, you dont buy a stereo on its own, you pay alot and get good speakers, cheaper means cheaper! free means not worth charging for.

saying that tho apple has the cheek to charge em at £19 over here in UK which is amazingly expensive for somert you get free!

I bought my sister a pair of KSC75 because I wanted her to stop using freebies. She bought a pair of Koss Clips about 2 months later to use in bed when she's sleeping, so she wouldn't beat up the 75's which I thought was odd but was cool with. Me, I can't stand the sound of the Clips, but she likes it enough that she uses them more than the 75's. At hearing the price ($3.50) and listening to them, most people on head-fi would be liable to call them crap and never recommend them to anyone. But I know my sister likes them enough that she recommended them to others who like them as well. Every person's ears are different, and everybody is looking for a different thing, so, for the most part just because they happen to be the freebie iPod headphones, doesn't mean they are crap. They can on the other hand, be crappier than other things.

Now if I just took some refrigerator magnets, looped copper coil around them a couple of times, connected it to a jack and supported it over my ears using popsicle sticks and twine.........that would be crap.

I dislike those charts. It's like studying sound speed profiles. Real world uses often contradict everything a graph can "tell" you. For purely analytical comparison it probably has it's uses, but how can your graph personal satisfaction or enjoyment...?

the problem here ofcourse is your sister (although obviously i dont know) hasnt heard much better or spent more money on higher quality phones so she is unlikely to have heard better, my girlfriend is the same, she wont even try on my se530's because (i think) she is scared of not liking her cx300 anymore

Yes but they can explain why apple earbuds sound like complete crap. Its like "damn these buds sound like crap" and "No wonder just look at the graph"

Seriously, if you like them that's good for you. Most people around here hate them, but that's their choice.

I am not a big fan of their sound, but then again I don't really like the sound of my car stereo either, but I still listen to it because it's better than no music at all. And, cars are a ****ty environment to listen to music anyway too many sound reflections and too much ambient noise.
