I am trying to find the best way to let people know when a head-fi meet has been scheduled. as it is now, you have to check the meets and gatherings thread to know when something is happening. I doubt that this is a regular stop for most of us.
I believe it would be much more efficient to have a list of members, and they can be notified of an official meet in their area with ONE pm that includes a link to the new meet thread. it wouldnt be for anything other then informing people. If someone doesn't want to be on this list, they can just opt to be taken off.
All too often, I hear people being mad because they weren't aware of a meet. this would solve the problem.
SO, is there a good way to do this?
It should go without saying that I have already compiled a starter list, but the PM system has a limit on the number of people you can PM at once. I was trying to find the threshold, but I gave up when it wouldnt accept 10 people at once. if you have about 100 people, sending 10 PM's would get old quick.
