is blu tak the same as thumbtack?

Thinking about doing the blu tak mod, but does it need to be specifically blu tak?

would generic thumb tack work just as well?

whats the difference?

I'm assuming thumb tack is referring to a sticky substance used to attach posters and such to walls, and is malleable like clay, not to actual thumb tacks that have a sharp metal thingy sticking out. If it is the malleable sticky stuff, it should work, but the results may not be exactly the same. Since it's removable, you might as well try it and post your results.

yeh i tried it

(yeh i know, i just had white off brand sticky stuff)

i seem to have gotten the same results as everyone else.

more bass impact, less hollow highs.

worked out nicely, worth the 10 minutes.
