Hi, i searched the net and couldn't find a satisfying answer regarding the soundquality of the iRiver iFP 700 series. I want to plug him as source from time to time into my setup when i am to lazy to start-up my whole computer system.

Anyone knows if the 18mW output of the unit is satisfying enough regarding its size as source for a serious stereo setup (creek/epos) ?

Thanks folks.. ahh and besides this is my first post !

Welcome to Head-Fi!

iRiver quotes 18 mW into 16 Ohm which tranlates roughly into 500 mV RMS maximum - about a 1/4 of a standard CD player output of 2 V. So you wouldn't be able to drive your system to full power, otherwise there should be no problems connecting it.
