iRiver H300 Series vs iPod Classic 7G

Hello, I just was cleaning up and found my old iRiver H300 Series player. Been using the iPod Touch 4G and forgot about it and how good that it sounded. How may of you successfully completed the HD upgrade to 240GB?
 
I just bought me an iPod Classic 7G and still burning it in.  Do you think it be worth upgrading the iRiver H300 Series HD and keeping the iRiver for larger capacity over the iPod Classic 7G?
 
Have anyone had issues connecting the iRiver to a 2011 iMac? For some reason mine won't see it. I will have to try and connect to my windows laptop.

I have upgraded the hard driver of H340. But not to 240GB, only 64GB SSD. I have installed Rockbox on it, so I don't have any issue connecting it to my Macbook Pro. It just shows up as an USB storage device, then drag and drop.

Thanks, I figured out the problem I had to move the setting to Hub. Now it connects and drags and drops like before. Would you say it's worth the trouble to upgrade.
