why should the ipod be expected to improve its sound quality? it performs perfectly well for its market segment, average to above average in most quality aspects and does its job well.

apple have to focus on features which set it apart. it is not made for audiophiles, it just happens to be a good sounding player. if apple suddenly worked on upgrading its output caps among other items, it would be focusing on a smalllll segment of its market.

would I be happy? yes, but it doesn't matter of less than 1% of its market really wishes the machine would get bigger, heavier and ultimately less portable.

i look forward to the camera, the magnometre and the new gpu!

I didn't say I expected Apple to work on SQ. Quite the opposite, actually! I just said it would make me happier.

The Touch is a great gadget. I like mine a lot. I'd just like it better if the sound quality were closer to something like the Sony X.

I am curious what MP amount they will use for the camera. I am assuming these will not have a flash meaning photos when its darkish out would be useless.

The update is (hopefully) for a 3.2mp camera, same as for the iPhone. I'm hoping for a bump in capacity myself.
