1) can the Nano battery be replaced by Apple?

2) in/out of warranty, does the battery need to be completely dead (unit doesn't even turn on) before they will do the replacement. -or- can you complain that the battery life is super low after so much usage and would like to replace it?

Thanks.

1) Depends on your definition of "replacement". Apple's is to replace the entire unit, so you end up ultimately with a replaced battery.

2) I think low battery life, but they'll test it at an Apple Store first. Maybe if you send it to Apple too.

I see. I thought this would be an iffy question to ask. I'll go to Apple and ask as you suggested.
