Are premium interconnects available to connect a portable CDP to a headphone amp (X-Can)? Is a more expensive interconnect even needed for a portable CDP? I have been using just a cheap $8 cable and I'm curious as to whether better ones exist?

I contacted ZuCables and they will make you a really really good one for $100... but I think it is overkill. The straightwire should be fine... or even better a mini->rca adapter...

The straightwire for $20 should be just fine. I doubt that with a PCDP you will be able to tell much of a difference between it and much more expensive cables.
