How do you operate yours on battery mode? Both NiMH in, out? With external pack??? can you use the external pack only? If the thing dies with both External adn internal batteries going, then can you just replace the AA's??? i am going on a 30 hour car trip and have some questions as you can tell.

I usually just use the internal batteries. I rarely use the external due to it being an eye sore and its bulkyness, but in your case, i suggest you use both. You could just use the AAs though, and the external pack has been said to trickle charge the internals.

i think you are right about the trickle charge thing i was running it yesterday with both and the internals were dead, then my AA's died and the internals worked.

one more question

when playing mP3's what is the difference between the folder icon and the anti-shock icon??

Just the other day I was thinking to myself, "I really should carry the external battery pack". I was about 3/4 the way home and the internals pooped out. I don't worry about bulk, becasue I have a Case Logic belt strap/pcdp holder and my iMP 350 ALONG with the external battery pack fit very well. I don't even notice that it's there because the pouch is a specific size and will only fit as much as it's size..and the iMP leaves planty of room for the external piece.

Interesting about the trickle effect, I didn't know that. Was is los, do you think that you'd get more battery life out of the iMP with using the AA's to charge the NiMH's or do you think that they would last longer on their own ?

Another great thing about the external, is that you can use rechargables in there too....so you're not spending all that money on batteries constantly. All you'd need is a recharger.

yup that is true about the external, i actually velcroed mine to the bottom, so it is "attached"

i am testing this theory. I used only the NiMH today and they lasted about 9-10 hours. tomorrow i will test the External only. then test both together.

Cool. Wanna hear the results. Don't forget to list the AA batery used.
I was thinking about getting some new rechargable AA's and a smart charger just for the external, this way I don't have to keep spending money on AA's.
S.S.

Oh my god, I hate this.....The movie Kung Pow enter the fist is on, Its the worst movie ever made, but I can't stop watching it. And I mean, that I watch it when ever it's on. Very pathetic.

well i think th AA's only last about 9-12 hours, mine are almost dead and i am in that range of time, proabably between 10-11 hours.

so i think the AA's + internals will last about 20 hours.

Sounds good..about what I thought.

Have some fun in the sun for me would ya ? And please drive carefully. I've done that trip more than a few times and once alone. It's an exausting trip, but once you see that big ass "MIAMI" sign all laid out in a floral pattern on the grassy knoll, you know you can roll down your windows and breathe in some fresh air. I was living in Orlando a couple of years ago (only for a year) and had a great time.
Enjoy !

By the way, doing 110 MPH most of the way down, got me there in well under 20 hrs from NYC...not that you should drive that fast or anything......

i am going with Habitat for Humanity, there is a CLub at UND and they go somewhere warm every spring break. 30 hours in a Van, and we can't speed because they got caught last year and got in big trouble with the school. Oh well, it won't be too bad, we only work 4 days out of the 6 we are there and we have free nights, so we can do whatever.
