Hi, I would like to check the market today and see how much I would  need to invest to get sound +- as good as from Koss Porta Pro from IEMs.
I've noticed some new JBL Tempo In-Ears coming out dirt cheap ($18), but I absolutely don't know how they sound 'cause I didn't find any review about them.
I've already heard the SoundMagic E10, which sounded very bassy to me, SM E30, which, in contrast, didn't have any bass and VSonic GR02 which sounded the best out of these three but still weren't absolutely good enough.

So to repeat my question - what would you recommend me to buy to get a KPP-like (which I kind of like) sound from IEMs? How much money would I have to spend?

Thanks

P.S. Audio source is Samsung Galaxy S with Voodoo sound, music style is mainly rock and some metal, but sometimes also anything else (not  classical music or country, though).

Here is a place to start in finding an IEM that has the same or similar sound signature as the Koss Porta Pro.

1.)  Compare the headphone charts to the Koss Porta Pro found below
http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/KossPortaPro.pdf

2.)  First match the frequency response curve of the IEM in question to the Koss Port Pro's frequency response chart.  This will ensure you are getting a very similar sound signature.

3.)  Next move to the 300 Hz sine wave and 30 Hz sine wave curves.  Do the same comparison as in step 2.  This will ensure that the harmonics are closely matched to the Port Pro's.

Suggestions:

The Brainwavz M2 comes close having a little more bass than the Porta.  Everything else is remarkably similar

If you do go with a set of Brainwavz M2 IEM be sure to pick up a pair of Comply T-400 foam tips to improve comfort and the seal.

The Phiaton PS210 comes close as well and  the bass bends down away from the 0dB mark which is what you may be after in addition to the mids and treble shape.

Thanks for your answer. Do You know where I could find such data for VSonic GR06 or any other earphones? The Brainwavz look interesting, but so did the Soundmagic E10, E30 and VSonic GR02 which I tried and didn't really like any of them (E10 heavily overbassed, E30 lack of bass, GR02 overbassed, not really airy). Unfortunately, I don't have the option to try out the Brainwavz, are they simmilar to any model of some more known brand?
Edit: What about Audio Technica ATH-CKM55? How do they sound?

P.S. I live in Slovakia, Europe so the choice is not that great, but I could buy from overseas if the shop offers international shipping (not for additional $40, though).
