Im in the us and looking to pay under $600 for replacement IEMS with a better audio quality.

I listen to hardcore, post hardcore/metalcore, grind, thrash, death metal, prog metal

I read some recommendation for the mangird top & symphonium meteor, but i cant find any definitive answer if they work great for the metal i listen to.

I use a samsung phone or a mac for a player. i also have a go blu if the IEMS need a dac. I have a cadmus cable i had got to use on the katos, but it sounds like meteors and top have decent stock cables

appreciate the help

i bought a cable to replace the cable on my Moondrop Kato and somehow broke the connector on the right IEM, so I only have a working left Kato. is there any places you sell leftover IEMS to?

Meteor’s shell is big and is very uncomfortable for me. Sound wise, I would consider getting Top, Variations or Pilgrim.

which one of those 3 is going to have the better mids and can handle complex/fast songs?

edit just heard a youtube "sound demo" of the variations and Top. didnt care for them. Will look up the Pilgrim.

did like the SA6 Ultra also.

I've got two pairs of Kato and the 7hz original Timeless is really fast for metal but you need a $9 Apple USB to 3.5mm adapter to power them fully, a phone won't do it. The fastest ear buds I've ever heard were the Creative Aurvana Ace 2 I got at Christmas and was one of the first pairs to ship from preorder. The solid state drivers are for the mids and highs and lightning fast. The bass driver is dynamic and it's fine, just not the blazing speeds on the mids and highs. Zero congestion and paired well with my Google Pixel and 5.1 BT adapter. For wired or wireless those would be my choices for that type of music and maximum fun factor.

well my Cadmus 8w has balanced and usb C terminations, and i have my ifi go that plugs into my audio sources.

Couldnt find any audio samples of the Pilgrim but what i did read says to go with the noir version

so youre recommending the Creative Aurvana Ace 2 and what was the 2nd one?

I personally use the Sennheiser IE600 IEMs. I don't know that they are specifically used for Metal, but they seem to do really well in that genre for me. You can typically pick them up used for $400-500.

Ie800s are a bit older than the ie600's but they are my go to for metal. That's a lie, the LCDi4 are, but not for that price.

Og Timeless is excellent for metal.
