Hello everyone! I'm looking for a new pair of in-ear headphones for my daily commute. I'm normally riding the bus or walking around outside, so I really need something that will provide good isolation and hopefully good highs. I have a budget of around US$140 but I can go a little higher if necessary. I'd be using these headphones un-amped with an iPhone 5 (I don't really need or care for a microphone or control buttons).

I would really appreciate any pointers. Thank you!

Isolation? Treble? Etymotics. Best isolation of any non-custom IEM to my knowledge, and a bass-light sound signature. At your budget you'd be looking at the mc5 or hf5, depending on whether you want a dynamic or balanced armature driver. Someone else may be able to elaborate on the differences in how the two IEMs sound.

Just look out for cars, because you won't hear them coming!

Thank you very much, the Etymotics seem to fit very well with my needs and budget.

Is the isolation on the Shure S215s good? I've heard some good things about them.

They seem to be pretty much opposite in sound signature . The shure se215 seems to be warmer and darker while the etymotic is brighter and more accurate. You might be able to ask ljokerl for an exact comparison.
