I prefer sound Quad ESL63 speaker, yes its old but has some strange magic, they really got it right. It has a really natural and neutral midrange sounding but doesnt rape the listening pleasure as much as many other speakers, bad recording sound bad but not terrible. You could use it for audiophile listening and studio monitoring. The soundstage is really holographic.
Best of all, it doesnt really sound like a speaker too much.

I am looking for similar soundsignature of iems, perhaps etymotics are overly analytical? Maybe i just buy IE8s, they are not really badly priced here in europe. I just need some IEMs to get me going, IE8 cant be bad but are they
good value for money?
