Memoirs of a Geisha Soundtrack and Lang Lang Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 with Valery Gergiev on Hybrid SA-CD. Yo Yo Ma, John Williams, Itzhak Perlman, and Rob Marshall play and produce the Geisha soundtrack which is published by Sony Classical. The sound is just so sublime and it really begs the question, "with CD sound as good as this, why the bother for hi-rez anything?" It is beautifully layered, textured, and grand in its artistic vision just like the film itself. To be owned! Lang Lang's SA-CD is really the best rendition of this warhorse that I have owned to date so far. He is a peerless virtuoso pianist. He can play so delicately that it sends me in a state of rapture and with such gusto that I am invigorated by the power of his mastery. If anyone has a mild curiosity in this Asian music and film trend, then go see the movie and get the music!

I have to disagree about Lang Lang's performance, I really do not think it is up to the level of many other versions. I do agree that the sound quality is very good, though.
