Looking at the iCan as a headphone amp to use at work.
Right now I'm transporting my laptop + Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS to and from work. Its a very nice setup, but its a bit much to cart back and forth but then I've got lossless playback of my music.
I know if I move to something using my phone as a source I am going to lose some fidelity. The question is how much?
I found a iCan at a decent price and am debating picking it up simply so I have a easier to transport setup, but is that amp overkill for my Beyers?
IIRC there is no good way to pull audio out via the Mini USB from a HTC one, nor is there a LOD type connection for it either.
I may have an older gen 2 or 3 iPod lying around I could use the LOD cable out of, but again, how big a fidelity hit am I taking?
Thoughts appreciated...
