Do you guys actually use the indexing feature than browser by artist and what not? Or do you just browse by folders? I’m really frustrated because I’m sick and tired of editing Id3 tags to make it work. When you search the artist, you select it, it doesn’t show the songs in order of the album, It just shuffles them. Ideally you would select the artist and have the albums show up, but it doesn’t do that when you search for the artist, only if you manually locate the artist. If you have classical music, there are like a million artists, so it’s frustrating. How do you guys browse.

I don't use Mango player, I don't like it at all.

I recommend you to change to UAPP (best features), Neutron (best sound) or Poweramp (best UI).

I’ll check it out, do either of them have a parametric equalizer? I guess it’s w good think it has android and not mango os, otherwise we would be stuck with the default apps.

All three have parametric equalizer, and they are much better than the Mango equalizer ;)
I recommend you UAPP

Thanks, I was just playing around around with power amp, I actually had their equalizer already installed on Apple Music. for some reason, I can’t get power amp to work with power amp equalizer, I’ve turned off volume control and turned on music FX and it still won’t work with their equalizer. It looks like the built-in equalizer is pretty much the same as the standalone app anyways but now I have to maintain two equalizer.

I have never user the Poweramp equalizer app, only it's integrated equalizer. And not too much.

I am a fan of the parametric equalizer of UAPP, and Neutron too (but a bit less). It is much easier to use.

Alright got it working, there is a stupid setting you have to turn on called music fx, it was turned on in the settings but also needed to be turned on in the baked in equalizer in power amp. I tried UAPP, it’s ok and would do the job but power amp interface is so much nicer. UAPP is bit perfect but it’s a moot point since I’m using a parametric equalizer anyways on my hifiman 400i to get rid of the 8300hz peak, and a mild bump in the mid treble. Power amp is great, it solves all my issues really. It runs surprisingly well on the slow dx170. Apple Music is pretty bad on the dx170 even with animations disabled, though it’s still usable. The nice part is I can use power amp equalizer for Apple Music and power amp player. For classical music with all the various artists on one album, power amp works really well.
