Hello everyone.
I am on this journey of learning specifications so I can buy a DAP wisely, not just for the DAP itself but so I can then buy headphones (IEM or headset) that can be run by that DAP.
I would like to ask you to teach me the following specifically:

• How do I know if a DAP will support a certain headset?

For example, I was considering the Sony NW-WM1AM2, and I want to know what specification to look for (of this DAP and any other) to see if it supports Sennheiser HD600.
So, what specification should I look for in a DAP and headphones to see if that DAP will be able to run it?

Thank you very much in advance.

300mw @ 32ohm on the balanced 4.4mm or 2.5mm plug would be a good minimum number to shoot for. For the HD600 you can get inexpensive Youkamoo balanced cables or I use a Hart Audio Cables multikit with different tips for different plugs. 5,000ma battery good, but full size headphones will drain it faster than IEMs. A replaceable battery would be a dealbreaker for something that expensive, otherwise it's going to wear out and they can be a nightmare to replace on some models.
I've bought several of the Topping G5 amp/DAC combo for travel. They'll power virtually anything, and 6.5 hours of playback even with demanding headphones. 120 SINAD and silent noise floor, just the pinnacle of portable performance. USBPlayer Pro on the phone and songs from Qobuz in 44.1khz 16 bit FLAC, which is the range of human hearing and will play on the car stereo without upsampling so they sound great there too.

Check on any player to see if it's got optional extra batteries though. If they aren't available it can be a disposable item in 2-3 years. At least the G5 isn't too hard to swap out, but the ones in a waterproof case are sealed usually with some kind of wax or resin like a phone.
